Earth Day Family Fair

– by, Pavan Raj Gowda

The Earth Day Family Fair was organized on April 18, 2009, by the Environmental Services of Fremont City, at the Teen Center.
There were local environmental companies like EPA, PG&E, Waste Management, and GreenKidsNow.Org. They were also giving out free things like toy rubber fish, caps and bags. The fair also had a puppet show. It was about water sheds. The idea was to let us know to not throw trash down the storm drain.
We had 60 kids who took the pledge and signed up at the GreenKidsNow.org table. We reached out to every kid who came to the fair, and I was very happy to have raised awareness to 60 kids and made them to pledge and become Green Kids.
The best part of participating, was that I learned many things too; like to save water and to not throw trash down the storm drain. The Earth Day Family Fair was a huge success!
I look forward to participate in the Earth Day Fair every year.
